What is Feng Shui?

You may have heard of the term 'Feng Shui' and always wondered what it actually is. Well rather then saying 'it' we should rather say that Feng Shui is a 'way' of doing things. It involves different aspects of your life, including your home, your attire, your garden and the way you do things. It also involves different colors, different elements and different positions. lets have a look at this in more detail.

They say "home is where your heart is" and when it comes to Feng Shui your home can have a major impact on your life. How so? Using an Ancient Chinese grid called a Bagabu, you can split up your home into about 8 different sectors or areas. Each one of these areas represents a different part of your life, ranging from your love life down to your business life. If you want to achieve certain goals in parts of your life then you need to make sure that that section of your home encourages you to reach your goal.

For example, lets say that you wanted to have more prosperity or wealth in your life. In the southern end of your house you will want to put a metal element in that room, metal will attract wealth to you. But to improve further on what metal can do you may want to make the metal object a sailing ship facing inwards which symbolizes wealth sailing into your life.

You may have heard the saying "he looks like a million bucks". Again with Feng Shui, this is truer then you think. As mentioned colors can have a huge affect on you and those around you, colors play an important part in your home and also on you. If you are going for a job interview, you want project calmness and confidence. Wearing certain colors can help you to achieve this, they will make you feel good and also project the emotion onto those that look at you.

Through our home, through our garden through our work area there is an energy force that moves around. This energy is called 'Chi' and when your chi is roaming around freely and moving the way you want then you will find that things go well for you. As soon as it gets blocked by clutter then you will also find that obstacle stand in your way from achieving your goals. Chi should always be flowing and moving like Yin Yang.

So far this is only the basics of Feng Shui and how it can help you in your life, there is a lot more to it. Using Feng Shui may seem complicated at first but once you understand it then it is quite simple and can easily be used in your own life to bring you what you want.
